Meet Shreya

Shreya is in her fourth week in an Early Intervention fieldwork placement. It has not been an easy time- she does not have any experience interacting with very young children. Although she is trying her best and accepting her CI’s feedback, she feels overwhelmed much of the time. Shreya’s CI has told her she is "too slow", especially when answering questions. A few times, she has asked Shreya if she really wants to be in this fieldwork setting. Not wanting to cause trouble, Shreya says she is fine and will do better. She wishes her CI knew that isn’t uninterested or unmotivated; she hopes to become a good therapist. With midterm coming up, she is scared of failing fieldwork and decides to confide in her CI about how overwhelmed she feels sometimes.
